Together ... Our 1st birthday celebration together, his with me and mine with him. One day apart, such a sweet coincidence =) Day One - 21st Feb We arrived at Krabi International Airport late in the evening...
boarded the local shuttle bus...
and reached our little resort at Aonang just before midnight.
Day Two - 22nd Feb Had a yummy international buffet breakfast to start our day. After filling our stomach, we rented a blue bike from the hotel and rode around Aonang the whole afternoon. 1st time riding with dear *grinz*
Aonang was a rather small place and we covered pretty much everything in an afternoon, from the main touristy areas,
to the sandy beach,
and headed back for a nice swim at our resort. In the evening, we embarked on a long adventurous ride to Krabi town. The ride took about 40 min, with cold winds blowing in our faces. At the dinner place, I kept asking dear to go to the toilet so that I can surprise him with a chocolate parfait in place of a birthday cake. The friendly cafe owner gave us a re-lightable candle (is that the correct term?), and that took dear several huffs and puffs to blow it out. Haha.

Happy Birthday Dear! May all your wishes come true! *hugz* Day Three - 23rd Feb Woke up bright and early for a fun-filled rafting trip cum elephant trekking day!
Rafting wasn't as exciting as the river was over crowded with the numerous tour groups and the water flow wasn't as rapid as rapids should be But the monkey at the lunch site was so adorable...aww...loved hugging it.
They brought us to a waterfall for a swim as well.
Elephant trekking with dear was so fun!
In the evening, dear wanted to bring me for a seafood dinner, and we tried to borrow a bike from the hotel for free. After some consideration, the nice receptionist lady agreed to lend us her bike for 4 hours. Yay! (eventually we paid her a token sum) And off we went to a beach side restaurant where we fed lots of mosquitoes , followed by drinks at another restaurant.
Dear went off to toilet and came back with an amused look on his face, 'cos he wanted to ask for candles but there was no friendly staff to help. So we decided to get my birthday cake on our way back to our resort. He asked me to wait at the place he parked, while he went to get the cake.
Back in our room, he asked me not to turn around while he prepared the cake. And when he was ready, this was what I saw...
*beams* Thanks for the sweet arrangement dear =)
Day Four - 24th Feb Our last day at Krabi! We signed up for the island hopping cum snorkelling trip. Initially we didn't feel like swimming at our 1st stop @ Bamboo Island
Our 2nd stop was for us to go snorkelling for 1/2 hour. I was rather nervous when I realised I couldn't breathe properly through the tube I was biting on. For the 3rd destination, they brought us to Phi Phi Don and showed us the caves where the bird nests were obtained, before stopping for us to swim. (struggling to trap water while raising my hands)
After which, we proceeded to Phi Phi Island for lunch.
Our final stop allowed another 1/2 hour for snorkelling. I was really happy when I could finally snorkel for longer periods, feeding the fish, trying to touch them, while holding dear's hands Home Sweet Home - 25th Feb Happy 8 months! I had a really great time at Krabi. It was a most enjoyable trip, right dear? |
